Auch zum Anfertigen von Screenshot braucht man eine Tastenkombi. Drückt man "cmd + Shift + 3", wird ein Foto des gesamten Bildschirms auf dem Schreibtisch abgelegt. Um nur einen Ausschnitt abzuspeichern, nutzt man den Shortcut "cmd + Shift + 4". Dadurch verwandelt sich der Mauszeiger in ein Fadenkreuz, mit dem man durch klicken und ziehen den gewünschten Bereich markiert. Durch zusätzliches Drücken der Leertaste, wird aus dem Fadenkreuz eine Kamera, mit der man einzelne geöffnete Fenster "abfotografieren" kann.


Auf Macs ist es möglich, Spaces genannte Arbeitsbereiche zu erstellen. "Damit besteht die Möglichkeit, Fenster vieler geöffneter Programme und Ordner auf verschiedene Spaces zu verteilen", erklärt Alexander Zschweigert von "MacEinsteiger.de". "So arbeitet man noch organisierter." Einen einzelnen Arbeitsbereich erstellt man, in dem man den Mauszeiger bei einem offenen Programmfenster nach oben aus dem Bildschirmbereich herauszieht. Dann erscheint eine Übersicht verfügbarer Schreibtische, denen sich dieses Fenster zuordnen lässt, so Zschweigert. "Zwischen mehreren Schreibtischen wechselt man dann mit der Tastenkombination "Control + Pfeiltaste links oder rechts".


Wer etwa nach einem bestimmten Absatz in einer Datei sucht, braucht diese nicht komplett zu öffnen. Mit Hilfe der Leertaste kann der Nutzer die Schnellvorschau des jeweiligen Dokuments öffnen. Das bedeutet, dass die Datei nicht vollständig geöffnet wird, sondern nur eine Vorschau-Ansicht. Ein erneutes Drücken der Leertaste schließt die Vorschau wieder. "Das i-Tüpfelchen dabei ist, dass man Quickview modular ergänzen kann", erklärt Marcel Dietzmannn. "Mit Hilfe entsprechender Erweiterungen kann man auch eine Schnellvorschau für Dokumente erhalten, die nicht von macOS unterstützt werden."


In MacOS ist ein Programm namens File Vault integriert, mit dem sich alle Daten bei Bedarf verschlüsseln lassen – das bietet Schutz vor unbefugten Zugriffen, etwa, wenn der Rechner gestohlen wird. Das bedeutet aber auch: Ohne einen Wiederherstellungsschlüssel beziehungsweise das Anmeldekennwort des Administrator- oder Benutzer-Accounts hat man keinen Zugriff mehr auf die eigenen Daten. "Hat man sensible Daten zu schützen, ist der Einsatz von File Vault aus meiner Sicht in jedem Fall zu empfehlen", sagt Dietzmann.



Ein Bild aus dem letzten Urlaub oder ein Foto der Familie als Hintergrund für den Desktop? Das lässt sich in MacOS leicht bewerkstelligen. "Klickt man mit der rechten Maustaste auf das gewünschte Foto, öffnet sich ein Kontextmenü, in dem unter dem Punkt "Dienste" die Option "Als Schreibtischhintergrund festlegen" zur Auswahl steht", erklärt Alexander Zschweigert.


Wenn man nicht gerade in den Urlaub fährt, kann man den Rechner öfter auch einfach mal anlassen – vorausgesetzt, der Ruhezustand ist aktiviert. Dazu stellt der Nutzer einfach eine Zeit ein, nach der sich der Mac bei Inaktivität des Nutzers automatisch in den Ruhezustand versetzt. "In diesem Zustand verbraucht ein Mac relativ wenig Energie, dafür ist er am nächsten Tag sofort einsatzbereit", sagt Peter Müller vom "Macwelt-Fachmagazin". Sonst gelte: "Auf älteren Macs mit Festplatte kann der Systemstart unangenehm lang dauern."


Wer seinen Mac verschenken, verkaufen oder verschrotten möchte, sollte seine Daten tilgen. Dabei hilft die Datenträgerlöschung. Zu der gelangt man, wenn man mit der Tastenkombi "cmd + Shift + U" das Festplattendienstprogramm öffnet und dann den zu löschenden Speicher auswählt. "Nun kann man einstellen, wie oft der Speicher mit zufälligen Nullen und Einsen überschrieben wird, je öfter das passiert, umso länger dauert es, wird aber von Mal zu Mal sicherer", erklärt Müller.



Microsoft hat sein Angebot einer deutschen Treuhänder-Cloud endgültig zum Auslaufmodell erklärt. Die Kundenwünsche hätten sich radikal geändert. Die Deutsche Telekom will weitermachen.

In either case, you’ll also enjoy a 1080p display and excellent connectivity with two USB-A 3.0 ports, a USB-A 2.0 port, a USB-C 3.1 port, an Ethernet port for wired networking, and a full-size HDMI video connection. In a day and age where companies are sidelining compatibility concerns, that’s nothing to sneeze at. But perhaps most impressive is the Aspire 5 generous battery capacity. In our testing, the Aspire 5 exceeded Acer’s 7-hour estimate when browsing the web, at just over nine hours. You’ll be free to roam campus all day without lugging around a power brick or having to dash back to your dorm for extra charging.


If you can scrounge up some extra cash, then you could look at some of the prettier machines on our list. However, if you’d rather save your money for some better dorm room furniture or textbooks, then the Acer Aspire E 15 can meet your basic requirements with some room to spare.



You’ll spend hours and hours in class, studying, and taking tests, and there’s nothing like a quick gaming session to get your mind off your work. If you want a laptop that can keep up, then the Dell G3 Gaming offers several key benefits.


First, it’s reasonably priced at around $800 for a configuration with an 8th-gen 45-watt quad-core Core it-8300H CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD. Most important, that nets you an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, a quick mobile GPU that can game at 1080p with decent graphics in most modern titles.

Second, the Dell G3 Gaming is also relatively thin and light for a gaming laptop. That means you can carry it around campus as well. Like all gaming laptops, it won’t provide you with record-breaking battery life, but it’s decent enough to get you to a class or two and back to the dorm.


We spend a tremendous amount of time reviewing notebooks of all shapes and sizes — and that’s saying something today, when laptops come in so many shapes, sizes, and configurations. To make sure our recommendations provide real value to our readers, we live with the machines for a time and use them in writing our reviews — to make sure we can assess how they’ll work for real users.



But we do have a method to our madness in conducting these reviews, and you can get a behind-the-scenes look at it here. Hopefully, it will be obvious that our reviews are real labors of love — or hate, depending on the notebook — and therefore you can at least recognize that we don’t arrive at our conclusions without some serious consideration.


There was once a time when our answer would be a strong “no,” primarily because gaming laptops were once usually much larger, thicker, and heavier than non-gaming machines. That’s the last thing you want to carry around from class to class. That’s no longer true today, when many gaming laptops are thinner and lighter than ever. In addition to our Dell G3 Gaming pick above, the Razer Blade is perhaps the classic example of a laptop that’s made for gamers, with fast CPU and GPU options, but isn’t much thicker or heavier than other laptops.

Microsoft ist es aus wettbewerbsrechtlichen Gründen nicht gestattet, die Browser-Wahl der Nutzer einzuschränken. Bereits 2013 musste der Software-Konzern eine 561-Millionen-Strafe an die EU zahlen, weil er die Konkurrenzprodukte zu seinem damals üblichen "Internet Explorer" systematisch benachteiligt hatte. Erst nachdem die EU-Wettbewerbshüter den Software-Konzern dazu verdonnerten, bot Microsoft seinen Nutzern Browser-Alternativen an.


Letztendlich hat das dazu geführt, dass Browser wie Google Chrome deutlich an Beliebtheit gewannen und die Microsoft-Produkte schon bald überflügelten. Microsofts Produkte hingegen gerieten wiederholt wegen massiver Sicherheitslücken in die Schlagzeilen. Auch in Sachen Nutzerfreundlichkeit hinkte der Internet Explorer (IE) der Konkurrenz hinterher. 2015 stellte Microsoft die Weiterentwicklung des IE zu Gunsten des neuen Edge-Browsers ein. Dieser wird nur unter Windows 10 unterstützt.


Laut einer Umfrage haben die meisten Deutschen Zweifel an Künstlicher Intelligenz. Den Nutzen der Innovationen sehen nur wenige. Insbesondere im Militär ist KI nicht erwünscht.


Die Mehrheit der Deutschen steht einer Umfrage zufolge dem Einsatz Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) misstrauisch gegenüber. Nur rund jeder Siebte – 15 Prozent – denkt demnach, dass der Nutzen der Technologie gegenüber den Risiken überwiegt, wie eine repräsentative Umfrage des Instituts YouGov ergab.



45 Prozent der Befragten sehen gleich viele Gefahren und Chancen, weitere 26 Prozent bewerten die Risiken als höher als den möglichen Nutzen. Dabei steigt die Skepsis mit dem Alter an: Während für 18 Prozent der Unter-36-Jährigen der Nutzen überwiegt, sind nur 13 Prozent der Befragten über 54 ebenso optimistisch.


Eine Mehrheit an Befürwortern findet KI in keinem der verschiedenen Einsatzfelder. Rund die Hälfte der Befragten kann sich zwar vorstellen, dass Berichte über Aktienkurse (49 Prozent dafür, 37 Prozent dagegen) oder Fußballspiele (45 Prozent dafür, 41 Prozent dagegen) von Maschinen geschrieben werden. Vorstellungsgespräche oder Bewerberauswahl durch KI lehnen dagegen jeweils rund drei Viertel ab.


Auch den militärischen Einsatz, etwa in der Steuerung von Waffensystemen, lehnen 71 Prozent klar ab. Mehr Gegner als Befürworter haben auch selbstfahrende Autos: Jeder Zweite (52 Prozent) ist dagegen, lediglich 37 Prozent klar dafür, berichten die Forscher.


Weil Anwendungen immer speicherhungriger werden, kommen Computer mit kleinem Arbeitsspeicher (RAM) schnell an ihre Grenzen. Denn egal, wie schnell Prozessor oder Festspeicher arbeiten – ein zu klein bemessener Arbeitsspeicher bremst den ganzen Rechner. Für einen flotten Bürorechner sollten es deswegen mindestens acht Gigabyte Arbeitsspeicher sein, heißt es in der Zeitschrift "PC Magazin" (Ausgabe 10/2018). Für Videobearbeitung und Spiele müssen hingegen schon 16 GB oder mehr her.



Wer einen älteren Rechner nachrüstet, muss aber möglicherweise Speicherverwaltungsgrenzen beachten. Rechner mit dem veralteten Windows XP oder Windows Vista, sowie die 32-Bit-Versionen von Windows 7 und Windows 8 können nur 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher verwalten. Auch Windows 10 kann in der 32-Bit-Version laut "PC Magazin" lediglich 4 GB ansteuern.

The Kensington SD2000P is a solid overall docking station if you need something portable and small, but being small comes at a price, as the dock is only able to power up to one 4K monitor at a time at 30-Hz. Despite that, it has a decent number of ports and it can charge a laptop while also powering a 4K monitor.


There’s two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.1 ports, an RJ-45 Ethernet port, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort++ and a Kensington lock slot. The underside also allows the mounting of any 75mm or 100mm VESA compatible external display.The Linedock Docking Station is specifically designed for the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and while it's still compatible with other laptops (even those with different sizes), you won't get that perfect fit.



It comes with three USB 3.1 ports, three USB Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a Mini DisplayPort and an SD Card Slot. It also offers a 20,000 mAh battery pack inside of it that you can use to charge a variety of devices including your laptop. Unlike its little brother, it doesn’t feel like the Kensington SD4700P really has a place in the world, especially due to its limitations. The Kensington SD4700P can only power one 4K monitor at a time or two 2K monitors at a time, which is where it stumbles against its competitors.


To top it all off, it’s relatively expensive. The Kensington SD4700P features five USB 3.0 ports, two USB Type-C ports, an HDMI Port, a DisplayPort++, an RJ45 Ethernet port, a Kensington lock slot and a headphone jack. During testing, I found the Type-C port to be quite flimsy, as it would dislodge on its own frequently.

Plus, it tears through most games at impressive frame rates and you get a nice comfortable keyboard to play on. Overall, the G3 15 is the cheap gaming laptop to get if you're on a tight budget.

And while the L-Series looks good on paper, we’ll reserve our final judgement until we get the laptops into our lab for testing. Where did the time go? It seems like only a minute ago we were ringing in 2010 and now we’re at the cusp of saying goodbye to 2019 and hello to the roaring 2020s. But before you start whipping out the flapper dresses, jazz and Gin Rickeys, let’s take a moment to reflect on the laptops that defined the decade.


From the beautifully-balanced Dell XPS 13, to the consistently reliable Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon to the delightfully slim Asus Zenbook UX331UN, here are the 9 best laptops of the decade...plus one tablet.Anodized aluminum, glass weave, and nearly zero bezels. Those are the ingredients of a decade-defining laptop. Since 2015, the Dell XPS 13, as well as the XPS 13 2-in-1 and XPS 15 have sat at the top at many a tech publication’s best list, essentially beating a certain Cupertino juggernaut at its own game. This is the story of how Dell created its own lane and changed how everyone (including Apple) made laptops as a result.


It all started at CES 2015, when Dell unveiled the latest model of the XPS 13, the flagship notebook in the company’s premium line. At first glance, the laptop looked like previous entries until you opened it up. And then you saw those bezels, or lack thereof. Teaming with Sharp, the XPS team had all but eliminated those unsightly thick bezels, replacing them with the first InfinityEdge display. The smaller bezels allowed Dell to significantly shrink the XPS 13’s profile, capturing the title of the world’s smallest 13-inch. It was all a part of an aggressive plan put in place by Donnie Oilphant, senior director of product marketing for XPS.


The original rollout plan for InfinityEdge was to take place over 10 years and three phases, the first of which would have significantly reduced the side bezels, leaving the top and bottom bezels intact. Instead, the team jumped to phase two. That gave us the three-sided InfinityEdge but also introduced the bottom bezel-mounted nosecam. But the company restored the camera to its rightful place two years later, creating the world’s smallest webcam.



Since then, the XPS team has continued to innovate the formula, shaving off a millimeter here and developing a new cooling system there. After learning women customers wanted another color scheme, the company created its proprietary glass fiber weave to open up more color palettes including the lovely rose gold variant. And as we close out this decade, Dell and the XPS team is looking forward with the motto of “chasing perfect.”


“[E]verybody knows perfect doesn't exist. But if you don't chase perfect, you’re obviously never going to get there” says Oliphant. “And so we strive every day...the area that we have probably the most opportunity to improve on and to continue to make huge strides is going to be in in the customer experience all the things, services, you know, ecosystems, all the things that we wrapped around that beautiful piece of jewelry.”


It’s a lofty goal, one that Dell doggedly pursues as it looks towards the future of the brand. But if it can’t achieve perfect, balance is the next best thing as Dell has consistently balanced value, quality, performance and endurance in one stellar product.“That's the ethos of what we do it is all about trying to drive the most balanced definition of each product within each category that we participate in. The Surface Pro 6 fixed the one thing holding Microsoft back from offering a device that fulfills its vision of a more mobile Windows 10 experience. The original Surface Pro introduced us to a new type of detachable Windows 10 device, but it had some serious shortcomings. Battery life was an issue for several years running and damaged the detachable’s promise of portability. It wasn't until the Surface Pro 6 that we started feeling comfortable using it away from an outlet.



"Performance, including battery life, is the result of hardware and software coming together to deliver the best experience for our customers, "Timothy Golik, senior director of product management at Microsoft told Laptop Mag. "In addition to the choice of physical components like custom batteries and low-power components, we work closely with our silicon partners and software teams across Microsoft to optimize how the software interacts with the hardware.

Nvidia managed to squeeze an RTX 2080 GPU in the MSI GS75 Stealth's 0.7-inch-thin chassis thanks to the company’s Max-Q technology. Even though this chip is not a full 2080 GPU, you can't deny that MSI created a slim and sexy design.


Plus, the Stealth can still run Rise of the Tomb Raider at over 60 frames per second. On top of that, this machine's 17.3-inch display is wildly colorful, covering 161 percent of the sRGB spectrum, and the laptop's top-firing Dynaudio speakers are an absolute joy to listen to.The Alienware m17 one-ups its little brother, the m15, and boasts an RTX 2080 GPU inside of its 0.7-inch body while taking on a gorgeous Nebula Red design. It's Core i9 CPU and top-tier RTX GPU blasted through all of our performance tests with ease.


Its 17.3-inch, 4K panel was the most notable feature, as it covered a wild 195% of the sRGB gamut and nailed 310 nits of brightness. On top of that, the Alienware m17 offers an excellent set of speakers that can fill a room with big, bright sound.


The MSI GT75 Titan is second only to the Alienware Area-51m in graphics performance among machines released so far. But for multimedia, this laptop is head of the class. Its 17.3-inch, 4K panel nailed an absurd 178 percent of the sRGB spectrum, and its audio is an absolute killer due to the combination of the Dynaudio speakers and Nahimic software. The GT75 Titan also features a full mechanical keyboard, with keys that have a deep 2.5 millimeters of travel.


At 0.7 inches and 4.8 pounds, the Acer Predator Triton 500 is amongst the slimmest and sexiest laptops with an RTX 2080 GPU. Along with its strong overall performance, the Triton 500's 512GB SSD is ridiculously fast, hitting speeds up to 1,696 Mbps. And that's not all, the Triton 500 features a super comfortable keyboard that has 1.7 millimeters of key travel as well as the ability to change the keyboard lighting to one of the 16.8 million hues available via the PredatorSense software.



Several owners of the new premium laptop have taken to Reddit and Microsoft's forums to report hairline cracks in the screen that appeared spontaneously. Microsoft has asked most of those customers to pay for repairs out-of-pocket, however, the company is now acknowledging the potential of a more widespread quality control problem.


"I have the same problem. Micro crack appeared in the right hand side of my Laptop 3. No damage caused by me," one forum member wrote. "There is another thread on this forum describing the same issue (can't post the link....) from several other people...There appears to be a design and/or manufacturing defect."


"Same problem here. I never ever had a cracked display in any phone of [sic] laptop the last 20 years. And with my new surface laptop 3 I had spontaneously a crack in one month. I must pay 560,- euro for a replacement within the warranty period," another user wrote. In rare cases, users have gotten Microsoft to agree to replace the screen without cost. However, most of the time, reps are telling furious Surface owners that it's on them to expense repairs.



ZDNet reached out to Microsoft and got the following response: "A limited number of Surface Laptop customers have contacted Microsoft and have reported screens that have cracked through no fault of their own. We are evaluating the situation and investigating the root cause of the claims." Microsoft began shipping the Surface Laptop 3 at the end of October, so it's still pretty early in the device's life cycle. That said, only a fraction of customers have come forward with spontaneously cracked screens, so the problem doesn't seem widespread enough to warrant a recall.

Das funktioniert natürlich nur, wenn die verwendeten Endgeräte nicht den Geist aufgeben, weil der Akku mal wieder leer ist. Deswegen hat HP einen riesigen 22.400-mAh-Akku im Rucksack untergebracht, der die verschiedensten Geräte wie Smartphones oder Tablets wieder auflädt. Bei dieser massiven Kapazität geht das natürlich nicht nur einmal, sondern mehrfach. Smartphones können bis zu zehn Mal wieder aufgeladen werden, während es bei Tablets bis zu drei Mal sind. Damit könnte man auch mehrere Tage unterwegs sein, ohne dass man Angst bekommt, dass einem der Strom des Akkus ausgeht.


Das war es aber noch nicht, denn der HP Powerup Backpack lädt sogar Laptops von HP auf. Das ist auch der kleine Makel an diesem Rucksack, denn es werden wohl tatsächlich nur Geräte von HP unterstützt. Das Unternehmen liefert entsprechende Adapter für die verschiedenen HP-Geräte mit, doch ob diese auch bei anderen Laptops passen, ist nicht bekannt. Die Idee, sein Laptop unterwegs im Rucksack aufladen zu können, ist aber ziemlich gut, zumal das Ladegerät vom Laptop auch direkt den Akku des Rucksacks aufladen kann. Damit spart man sich ein zusätzliches Ladegerät. Optisch sieht der Rucksack auch nicht gerade schlecht aus und bietet unzählige Anschlussmöglichkeiten für die verschiedensten Geräte in jeder Tasche.


Der Preis für das HP Powerup Backpack liegt in den USA bei 199 Dollar. Der Verkaufsstart ist für den 1. Oktober angesetzt. Ob HP den Rucksack auch in anderen Ländern verkauft, ist nicht bekannt. In den USA kann der Rucksack bereits bei Amazon vorbestellt werden.

Das war es aber noch nicht, denn der HP Powerup Backpack lädt sogar Laptops von HP auf. Das ist auch der kleine Makel an diesem Rucksack, denn es werden wohl tatsächlich nur Geräte von HP unterstützt. Das Unternehmen liefert entsprechende Adapter für die verschiedenen HP-Geräte mit, doch ob diese auch bei anderen Laptops passen, ist nicht bekannt. Die Idee, sein Laptop unterwegs im Rucksack aufladen zu können, ist aber ziemlich gut, zumal das Ladegerät vom Laptop auch direkt den Akku des Rucksacks aufladen kann. Damit spart man sich ein zusätzliches Ladegerät. Optisch sieht der Rucksack auch nicht gerade schlecht aus und bietet unzählige Anschlussmöglichkeiten für die verschiedensten Geräte in jeder Tasche.



Was kostet der Spaß?

Der Preis für das HP Powerup Backpack liegt in den USA bei 199 Dollar. Der Verkaufsstart ist für den 1. Oktober angesetzt. Ob HP den Rucksack auch in anderen Ländern verkauft, ist nicht bekannt. In den USA kann der Rucksack bereits bei Amazon vorbestellt werden.


Aldi Süd bietet am 3. Dezember das Medion Akoya E6422 (MD 99680) Windows 10 Notebook mit neustem Intel Skylake Prozessor der 6. Generation für nur 499€ an. Nachdem kürzlich das Medion Akoya E6418 (MD 99620) bei Aldi Nord mit älterem Prozessor für 100€ mehr verkauft wurde, möchte man mit einem etwas kleineren aber neueren Prozessor und geringerem Preis weitere Interessenten ansprechen. Durch die verbaute SSD dürfte die Performance trotzdem sehr gut ausfallen.


Das Medion Akoya E6422 (MD 99680) kommt mit einem 15,6 Zoll großen Full HD-Display und einer Auflösung von 1920 x 1080 Pixeln. Es handelt sich um ein IPS-Panel, mit dem die Blickwinkel und Darstellung sehr gut ausfallen dürften. Im Inneren arbeitet dieses Mal ein Intel Core i3-6100U Skylake-Prozessor der neusten Generation, der mit bis zu 2,3 GHz getaktet ist. Dazu gibt es 4 GB RAM und eine schnelle 128-GB-SSD. Dort können das Betriebssystem und Anwendungen sowie Spiele installiert werden, die man häufiger nutzt. Platzmangel gibt es trotzdem nicht. Medion verbaut nämlich zusätzlich eine 1 TB HDD, auf die man weitere Daten auslagern kann.



Wie nicht anders zu erwarten, kommt das Medion Akoya E6422 (MD 99680) direkt mit Windows 10 Home. An den Seiten finden sich einige Anschlüsse wie 2x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 und ein HDMI-Ausgang. Damit lässt sich das Notebook problemlos an einem größeren Monitor betreiben. Zur weiteren Ausstattung zählen WiFi-ac, Bluetooth 4.0, zwei Lautsprecher, eine HD-Webcam an der Front, ein Netzwerk-Anschluss sowie ein DVD-Brenner. Auf ein optisches Laufwerk wurde also nicht verzichtet. Die Laufzeit fällt mit bis zu 4 Stunden recht mager aus.

Ihr dürft beispielsweise alte Handys, Computerbauteile und leere Druckerpatronen damit entsorgen.

ABER: Laptop-Akkus, Energiesparlampen (Achtung, mitunter giftiges Quecksilber!) und Drucker-Toner dürfen nicht versendet werden.

Großhandel, Fachgeschäfte und der Online-Handel Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräte zurücknehmen, WENN sie eine Verkaufs- beziehungsweise Lagerfläche von mehr als 400 m² mit Elektrogeräten haben. Kleinere Händler sind von dieser Regelung ausgenommen (§ 17 ElektroG).



Großgeräte wie Fernseher oder Kühlschränke müssen nur bei Neukauf eines entsprechenden Geräts zurückgenommen werden.

Kleine Altgeräte (keine Kante darf länger als 25 cm sein) wie Smartphones, elektrische Zahnbürsten etc. müssen die großen Händler immer zurücknehmen.

Auch die Hersteller selbst müssen eine Möglichkeit der Rückgabe von Altgeräten schaffen (§ 19 ElektroG).

Durch die 400-m²-Regelung müssen Supermärkte also in der Regel keinen Elektroschrott annehmen, Media Markt oder Saturn hingegen schon.


Elektroschrott: Ankauf und verschenken

Der Schrott selbst hat häufig einen Eigenwert. Metalle werden beim Recycling zurückgewonnen und erneut verwendet. Ein Handy hat beispielsweise einen Goldwert von einem Euro. Eine Tonne Platinen enthalten soviel Gold, Kupfer, Zinn und andere Stoffe, dass sie für etwa 7000 Euro gehandelt werden.

Es gibt auch genügend Tüftler und Bastler, die euch den Elektroschrott abkaufen würden, sofern interessant genug.

Um den Wert von Elektroschrott zu testen, könnt ihr beispielsweise online schauen, ob defekte Geräte, die ihr auch habt, bereits zum Kauf angeboten werden – und falls ja, zu welchem Preis.


In größeren Mietshäusern gibt es oftmals einen Raum für Sperrmüll. Eventuell kann man dort auch Elektroschrott lagern, bis der Sperrmüll und Elektroschrott kommt.

In sehr wenigen Städten gibt es Tonnen oder Behälter, die öffentlich wie Altglascontainer aufgestellt sind.

Auch die Hersteller selbst bieten oftmals eine Rücknahme der alten Kühlschränke, Handys und Co. an. Hier sollte man sich auf der Herstellerseite informieren.Das Interesse an externen Akkus ist durch Pokémon GO extrem gestiegen, doch mit dem HP Powerup Backpack kann man nicht nur sein Smartphone oder Tablet aufladen, sondern auch ein normales Laptop. Der riesige 22.400-mAh-Akku bietet dafür genug Kapazität, um die Endgeräte teilweise bis zu zehn Mal wieder aufladen zu können.

Mit dem neuen Mac Pro will Apple verlorenen Boden im Geschäft mit Profi-Nutzern gutmachen. Der iPhone-Konzern stellte am Montag einen von Grund auf neu entwickelten Rechner der Reihe Mac Pro vor. Er soll ausreichend Kapazität zum Beispiel für professionelle Videoaufbereitung oder Musik-Komposition bieten. Unter anderem kann man damit mit mehreren Videos in extrem hoher 8K-Auflösung gleichzeitig arbeiten. Zusammen mit dem Mac Pro stellte Apple auch einen neuen Monitor mit sehr präziser Farbwiedergabe und hoher Auflösung vor. Der Computer hat einen US-Preis ab 5.999 Dollar, für den Monitor werden 4.999 Dollar fällig - plus 999 Dollar für den passenden Standfuß.


Apple hatte den Mac Pro zuletzt 2013 aktualisiert - und sich damals mit einem innovativen Design in eine technische Sackgasse manövriert. Der Konzern war davon ausgegangen, dass in leistungsstarken Computern mehrere Grafikkarten zusammenarbeiten werden und entwarf ein zylindrisches Gehäuse, in dem sie von durchströmender Luft gekühlt wurden. Doch in der Industrie setzte sich die Tendenz durch, den Arbeitsaufwand einer einzelnen hochgerüsteten Grafikkarte zu überlassen. Diese Modelle bekommt der Zylinder-Mac nicht gekühlt. Der Konzern kündigte deswegen bereits 2017 eine neue Version des Mac Pro in konventionellerer Bauweise an. Der neue Mac Pro erinnert nun äußerlich an den Vorgänger des Zylinder-Modells, der wegen der markanten Löcher im Metall-Gehäuse den Spitznamen "Käsereibe" bekam.


Die Fernsteuerung für Mac-Rechner von Apple wird eingestellt. Zwar gibt es Alternativen. Allerdings vereinen sie nicht mehr alle Funktionen an einem Platz – und kosten teils Geld.Apple stellt Anfang Juli die "Zugang zu meinem Mac"-Funktion ein. Das Ende der beliebten Fernverbindungsfunktion geht aus einem Support-Dokument des Unternehmens hervor. Hier nennt Apple auch einige Alternativen für Nutzer.


Mittels "Zugang zu meinem Mac" können Nutzer Fernverbindungen zu einem Mac-Computer aufbauen. So verbundene Rechner können Daten austauschen oder einander fernsteuern. Der Abschied kommt auf Raten, berichtet "Mac & i". Die aktuelle macOS-Version Mojave etwa bietet die Funktion nicht mehr.


Apple rät Nutzern dazu, Dateien künftig über iCloud Drive auszutauschen. Der Onlinespeicher ist für alle Nutzer mit 5 Gigabyte (GB) Kapazität kostenlos verfügbar und an die Apple ID gebunden. Gegen eine monatliche Gebühr gibt es 50 GB, 200 GB oder 2 Terabyte hinzu.



Backups sind Pflicht, nicht nur am "World Back-up Day" (31.März) – mindestens für die eigenen Daten, damit man bei Abstürzen und Crashes nicht vor einem Totalverlust der Daten steht. Es gibt aber auch optionale Back-up-Möglichkeiten, die viel Zeit und Arbeit sparen, wenn der Rechner einmal neu aufgesetzt werden muss. Dazu gehört etwa das Sichern von Programmeinstellungen, das das kostenlose Windows-Tool "CloneApp" beherrscht. Damit bleibt einem nach der Neuinstallation eines oder aller Programme der mühsame Weg durch die Konfigurationsmenüs erspart.


Wer nur seine Daten sichern möchte, kann sich die Arbeit auch von Windows abnehmen lassen. In den Einstellungen finden Nutzer Optionen für automatische Datensicherung. Um sie zu aktivieren, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

One screen didn't look more vivid than the other when I watched a trailer for No Time to Die. Daniel Craig's piercing blue eyes looked a saturated tone of aqua blue, and the lipstick worn by Ana de Armas was a deep scarlet. Details were also very sharp; I could see every scar webbing its way across the antagonist's masked face. When I looked closely, the MacBook Air's panel seemed to have better contrasts because black and gray hues were darker.


According to our colorimeter, the Surface Laptop 3 covers 121% of the sRGB color gamut, which makes it more colorful than the MacBook Air's screen (100%). The screens on these two laptops are equally bright. In fact, the Surface Laptop 3's panel, at 348 nits, was just a few nits brighter than the MacBook Air's screen (343 nits).


This will be a closer contest once Apple does away with the Butterfly keyboard, but even then, the new scissor keyboard on the 16-inch MacBook Pro doesn't come close to the excellent one on the Surface Laptop 3.


My fingers felt instant relief when I stopped typing on the MacBook Air and switched to the Surface Laptop 3. It felt as if my fingers moved from typing on a wooden desk to a plush pillow. The keys on the MacBook are shallow, stiff and offer practically no feedback. Not to mention the notorious reliability issues with the keys. In contrast, the Surface Laptop 3's keys have a pleasant soft-touch coating and decent key travel. I bounced from one key to the next on the Surface Laptop 3 without experiencing any discomfort.


I typed at 113 words per minute with an accuracy of 98% on the 10FastFingers.com typing test when using the Surface Laptop 3. That is a bit slower but much more accurate than the 116 wpm at an accuracy of 91% I scored on the MacBook Air.Apple still makes the best trackpads, and the 4.6 x 3.1-inch surface on the MacBook Air is no exception. The oversized pad tracked my movements and gestures effortlessly. I'm just not a fan of Force Touch, the fake haptic feedback that only simulates an actual click.



The 4.5 x 3-inch touchpad on the Surface Laptop 3 is also excellent, and its soft-touch coating matches the snug feeling of the laptop's keys. I had no problems using it to execute Windows 10 gestures, like pinch-to-zoom and three-finger swipe to switch windows. The gulf in performance was unmistakable on our benchmark tests. Equipped with a Core i7-1065G7 CPU and 16GB of RAM, the Surface Laptop 3 scored a 19,078 on the Geekbench 4.3 overall performance test. The 8th Gen Y-series CPU and 16GB of RAM in the MacBook Air landed at a lowly 7,880 on the same synthetic benchmark.


That poor performance from the MacBook has real-world consequences. The Air needed 36 minutes and 6 seconds to convert a 4K video to 1080p resolution using the Handbrake app. The Surface Laptop 3 took about two-thirds of that time, finishing the task in 24 minutes and 55 seconds. To Apple's credit, the company equips its laptops with some seriously fast hard drives. The MacBook Air's 256GB SSD raced to 1,011 megabytes per second using the Blackmagic disk app. Microsoft is only now catching on; the 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD in the Surface Laptop 3 copied 4.97GB of multimedia files in 9.4 seconds, for a rate of 541.4 MBps.


Expect good endurance from both of these laptops. The Surface Laptop 3 lasted for 9 hours and 17 minutes on our battery test, which involves continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi. It was a close call, but the MacBook Air powered down shortly before, after 8 hours and 51 minutes.



The base Surface Laptop 3 (Platinum) costs $999 and packs a Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. For $1,299, you can get a 256GB SSD and expand your color options to include Sandstone, Cobalt Blue and Black. We reviewed the $1,599 model with a Core i7-1065G7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. Doubling storage to 512GB raises the price to $1,999. If you want a 1TB SSD, it'll cost you $2,399.


The base MacBook Air comes with a Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD — specs that are similar to the lowest-priced Surface Laptop 3 — but the MacBook Air costs a bit more, at $1,099. You won't spend as much to upgrade storage, though. The 256GB model costs $1,299 — the same as the Surface Laptop 3 — and going from 8GB to 16GB of memory costs $200.

Laut "heise online" könnte es sich um eine Art Darstellungsproblem handeln. Um den Fehler zu beheben, haben Nutzer verschiedene Möglichkeiten. Unter anderem kann es helfen, auf die Neustart-Meldung in der Taskleiste zu drücken, statt das System im Startmenü neu zu starten. Eine andere Möglichkeit ist, manuell nach neuen Updates zu suchen.


Laut "heise online" könnte das Problem sich auch von selbst lösen: Da Windows regelmäßig selbst nach neuen Updates sucht, wird die Neustart-Benachrichtigung danach automatisch entfernt.In wenigen Tagen endet der Support für Windows 7. Ab dem 14. Januar 2020 stellt Microsoft den Support für das Windows 7 ein. Dann wird es keine Software- oder Sicherheitsupdates mehr geben. Nutzer, die weiter an dem betagten System festhalten, riskieren dabei, sich ungeschützt Cyberangriffen und Schadsoftware auszusetzen.


Sicherheitsexperten raten dringend davon ab, das betagte Betriebssystem weiter zu nutzen. Microsoft empfiehlt schon seit Jahren, sich auf einen Systemwechsel vorzubereiten und gibt Tipps für den Umstieg auf das aktuelle Windows 10. Das sei ohnehin das "sicherste Windows aller Zeiten", betont das Unternehmen.


Zwar hatte Microsoft nach dem Marktstart von Windows 10 das Upgrade von Windows 7 und 8 für geraume Zeit kostenlos ins Netz gestellt. Dieses Angebot ist allerdings seit zwei Jahren ausgelaufen. Seither bietet Microsoft das System ab rund 145 Euro zum Herunterladen an. Einige Fachmedien geben jedoch auch Hinweise, wie Nutzer selbst heute noch kostenlos auf das aktuelle System wechseln können, indem sie etwa das "Media Creation Tool" auf der Website von Microsoft herunterladen. Dazu kommt, dass manche Dritt-Hersteller Geld für aktuelle Versionen ihrer Programme verlangen, damit sie auch unter Windows 10 problemlos laufen. Alternativ können Sie auch das Betriebssystem wechseln, beispielsweise zu Linux Mint. Das ist kostenlos und kommt mit vielen Gratis-Programmen wie LibreOffice, eine Alternative zu Microsoft Office. Allzu große Aufregung sollte – anders als bei Windows XP – das Aus von Windows 7 jedoch nicht verursachen. "Unsere Kunden haben aus der Situation bei Windows XP gelernt", sagt Sabine Bendiek, Chefin von Microsoft Deutschland. "Wer sich frühzeitig mit dem Umstieg beschäftigt, minimiert Risiken und Kosten und profitiert von aktuellen Sicherheitsfunktionen und Innovationen."



Damals nutzten nicht nur viele sorglose private Nutzer, sondern auch viele Unternehmen das betagte XP noch weit über das Support-Ende hinaus. In vielen Betrieben konnten alte Programme nur mit dem veralteten Betriebssystem am Laufen gehalten werden. Auch in Geldautomaten steckte oft noch XP und beschäftigte Sicherheitsexperten regelmäßig. Heute erwarten die großen Analystenhäuser vielmehr einen Schub für den Absatz neuer Computer. Auch das Sicherheitsbewusstsein der Nutzer dürfte merklich gestiegen sein.

Microsoft hat einen Fehler in Windows 10 bestätigt. Dieser tritt auf, wenn Nutzer mit dem Systemdatei-Überprüfungsprogramm "sfc /scannow" das System prüfen lassen. Das Tool meldete dabei beschädigte Dateien, die sich nicht reparieren ließen. Das Problem soll Nutzern nach dem aktuellen Juli-Update aufgefallen sein. Das berichtet "heise online".


Microsoft schreibt auf seiner Seite, dass Nutzer bei der Überprüfung die Datei "%windir%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Defender" als beschädigt gekennzeichnet bekommen.


Problem bei Windows Defender

Laut "heise online" bestehe das Problem darin, dass die Hashes der überprüften Dateien nicht mit den Dateien übereinstimmen, die im Windows-Komponentenspeicherverzeichnis (WinSxS) hinterlegt sind. Das Problem betreffe dabei konkret PowerShell-Komponenten des Windows Defenders. "heise online" schreibt dazu, dass das Systemdatei-Überprüfungsprogramm an sich korrekt funktioniert und der Fehler durch den Aktualisierungsmechanismus des Windows Defender entstanden ist.


Laut Microsoft ist das Problem seit Windows 10 Version 1607 bekannt. Dabei handelt es sich um das zweite Funktionsupdate für Windows 10 von 2016. Ein konkretes Datum für einen Fix nennt Microsoft nicht

Doch auch bei einer SSD bleibt einem die Datensicherung nicht erspart. Ein Elektronikdefekt oder Verschleiß kann auch bei ihr dazu führen, dass sie ausfällt. Auch für die längere Archivierung etwa von Fotos sind sie laut Jan Bindig nicht so gut geeignet. Am besten solle man seine Daten gleichzeitig auf einer SSD- und einer HDD-Festplatte sichern.


Was kann ich gegen zu große Hitze tun?

Eine der größten Gefahren für Festplatten neben Erschütterung ist Überhitzung. Daher muss man gerade im Sommer besonders gut aufpassen, dass man seine Festplatte nicht der prallen Sonne aussetzt. Hitze sorgt nämlich für einen "Headcrash", bei dem die Speicherschicht beschädigt wird.


Es empfiehlt sich, Festplatten im Büro oder in Autos nie in der Sonne liegen zu lassen. Außerdem sollte man die Raumtemperatur kontrollieren und für ausreichend Luftbewegung sorgen. Eine Temperatur von 30 Grad sollte nicht überschritten werden.


Von dem bekannten Mythos, seine Festplatte im Kühlschrank oder Eisfach runterzukühlen, rät Bindig stark ab: "Das führt immer zu einer Vergrößerung des Schadens. Das Risiko sollte man nicht eingehen." Doch woher kommt der Mythos? "Bei irgendwem hat das halt mal funktioniert, und dann hat sich das verbreitet", vermutet Bindig. During CES 2020, Lenovo announced the newest addition to the company’s popular 2-in-1 lineup, the Lenovo Yoga 5G. Formerly known as Project Limitless, the laptop will be one of the first from Lenovo to feature 5G capability. Starting at $1,499, the convertible laptop will be available starting in spring 2020.


This Yoga isn’t going to win any design awards. It’s not that the Yoga 5G is ugly. Quite the contrary, it’s actually quite handsome with its slate gray aluminum body. It’s just that the Yoga design could use an update or at least a new color palette. As the name suggests, the laptop has 360-degree hinges that allow the laptop to switch from traditional clamshell mode to a tablet effortlessly.


Taking a peek at the laptop’s interior and you’ll see more of that stately aluminum gracing the keyboard deck, a full-size keyboard and a decently sized touchpad. Weighing 3 pounds and measuring 12.7 x 8.5 x 0.6 inches, the Yoga 5G is slightly lighter than the Asus ZenBook Flip 14 (3.3 pounds, 12.9 x 8.9 x 0.5 inches). However, it’s heavier than laptops like the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (2.9 pounds, 11.7 x 8.2 x 0.5 inches) and HP Elite Dragonfly (2.7 pounds, 12 x 7.8 x 0.6 inches).


The Yoga 5G’s 14-inch, 1920 x 1080 touchscreen, looked pretty bright and vivid during my brief demo. However, the room was a tad dim, so I definitely want to see how the panel shakes out with our colorimeter and screen brightness meter. Lenovo claims the screen will reach a maximum 400 nits which would top the Dragonfly (373 nits), but not the XPS 13 (516 nits).



It’s not a ThinkPad keyboard, but I’ll take it. Lenovo has some of the best keyboards on the market and the Yoga 5G is a great example. The keys are nice and bouncy and I never felt like I was bottoming out.
Aside from 5G connectivity, Qualcomm's claim to fame with its chipset is a claim of 24-hour battery life. The company's making this bet due to the lower power consumption of its chips. During my long tech journalism career, I've yet to see a laptop last beyond 13 hours, but there's always a chance, slim as it may be.


So what's so great about a 5G capable laptop anyways? Well, for starters, you'll get speeds 10 times faster than 4G LTE. That means whether you're downloading or uploading important documents or video or just want to download a movie before a flight, you'll get the task done in a much quicker fashion.


If you're not ready to make the leap to 5G and are looking to save a few dollars, Lenovo also announced a new pair of Yogas, the 14 and 15-inch Slim 7. Available sometime in April, both systems will start at $1,209. There’s also a 14-inch AMD version that starts at $849. Clad in sleek aluminum, the laptops are available in two shades: Slate Grey and the eye-catching Orchid.


Some of the laptops’ key features are AI focused, including Lenovo’s Q-Control Intelligent Cooling feature, which relies on AI to optimize battery consumption with claims of 20% longer battery life. Lenovo Smart Assist allows you to transfer content from the laptop to a connected monitor with just a simple turn of your head while the Smart Player will play/pause content upon your approach/departure from in front of the display.



The laptops also offer Amazon Alexa functionality such as Announcement, which lets you broadcast your voice through any active Echo devices. You can also attach a Smart Light via dongle that lights up when you summon Alexa. With the 14-inch version, you can get up to a 4K HDR display. For the 15-inch version, Lenovo is claiming the system gets a 30% battery boost for a time of 13 hours. You can also outfit it with an optional Nvidia GTX graphics.


Lenovo’s Yoga 5G laptop is a good example of what we can expect from these Qualcomm-powered, always-connected laptops. Not only are you getting always-on connectivity, you’re getting the lightning-fast speeds of 5G. I’m not sure how the 8cx CPUs will hold up to the likes of Intel or how realistic that all-day battery life claim is. But the Yoga 5G is still a great start to the era of 5G.


As far as the Yoga Slim 7, Lenovo has packed each laptop with a host of cool AI and smart home-compatible features that add a lot of useful functionality to a lower-tier brand in the series. I’m eager to get my hands on both systems and give them a few real-world tests.What's the best laptop for you? Damit reagieren die Unternehmen auf Berichte, dass die Batterien der Profi-Notebooks überhitzen und Feuer fangen können. Die europäische Flugsicherheitsbehörde Easa hat Anfang August einen entsprechenden Warnhinweis ausgegeben. Auch die US-Flugsicherheitsbehörde FAA rät zu einem vorsorglichen MacBook-Verbot.


Im Juni hatte Apple eine Rückrufaktion für die betroffenen MacBook-Pro-Modelle gestartet. Bei den Geräten bestehe Brandgefahr. Die fehlerhaften Batterien müssen ausgetauscht werden. Weitere Informationen hat dieser Artikel.

Das Problem betrifft Geräte, die zwischen September 2015 und Februar 2017 verkauft wurden. Auf der Supportseite von Apple können Nutzer mit Hilfe der Seriennummer nachschlagen, ob ihr MacBook dazu gehört. Geräte, die bereits von Apple ausgetauscht, beziehungsweise repariert wurden, dürfen mitfliegen.


Wie die Airlines das überprüfen wollen, ist allerdings unklar. Ein Sprecher von TUIfly sagte "Spiegel Online", die Mitarbeiter seien auf die Angaben der Passagiere angewiesen. Mit einem wichtigen Sicherheits-Update will Microsoft mehrere Schwachstellen im Windows-Fernwartungsdienst RDP ausbessern. Anders als bei "Bluekeep" ist dieses Mal auch Windows 10 betroffen.


Während die seit Mai bekannte Sicherheitslücke "Bluekeep" noch immer tausende Windows-Rechner bedroht, kämpft Microsoft bereits an neuer Front: Am Dienstag veröffentlichte der Konzern mehrere Sicherheits-Patches für alle modernen Windows-Versionen, inklusive Windows 10. Denn wie sich herausgestellt hat, weist der Windows-Fernwartungsdienst RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) mehr kritische Schwachstellen auf, als bisher bekannt.


Das BSI mahnt Nutzer via Twitter, ihre Windows-Rechner zu aktualisieren. Denn: Die entdeckten Sicherheitslücken sind "wurmfähig". Das heißt, Malware kann sich von einem infizierten Rechner selbständig weiterverbreiten. Eine erfolgreiche Angriffskampagne könnte dadurch großen Schaden anrichten und wäre nur schwer wieder unter Kontrolle zu bringen. Wer seinen Rechner zeitnah aktualisiert, schützt also nicht nur sich selbst, sondern auch andere vernetzte Geräte.

Eine Anleitung für Windows 7 und Windows 10 finden Sie hier. Unter Windows 10 werden Sicherheits-Updates in der Regel automatisch ausgeführt. Ihr System sollte also geschützt sein. Wie Sie ein Windows-Update dennoch manuell anstoßen können, erfahren Sie hier.


Laut Microsoft wurden die Schwachstellen beim Versuch entdeckt, den Fernwartungsdienst RDP zu verbessern und gegen Hackerangriffe abzusichern. Der Konzern geht davon aus, dass die Schwachstellen rechtzeitig erkannt wurden und noch nicht von Hackern ausgenutzt werden konnten. Nach den Desktop-Browsern von Firefox und Chrome unterstützt nun auch der Firefox für Android passwortfreie Log-ins bei Onlinediensten. Die Anmeldung läuft dann etwa über biometrische Merkmale wie einen Fingerabdruck.


Realisiert wird das über die Authentifizierungsmethode WebAuthn (Web Authentication), die erst seit kurzem offizieller Internet-Standard ist. Deshalb gibt es bislang aber auch kaum Dienste, die WebAuthn anbieten.WebAuthn funktioniert so: Unterstützt neben dem Browser auch der jeweilige Dienst diese Methode, benötigt der Nutzer nur noch eine Identifizierungskomponente, um sich anzumelden - etwa besagten Fingerabdrucksensor beim Smartphone.



Darüber hinaus kann WebAuthn auch als sogenannter zweiter Faktor bei Log-ins fungieren, um ein Konto besser abzusichern. Das Prinzip nennt sich Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung (2FA) und funktioniert so: Man gibt sein Passwort ein, muss sich aber zusätzlich noch mit einer zweiten Komponente ausweisen. Das kann ein spezieller USB-Stick sein, ein Smartphone mit einer App oder ein biometrisches Anmeldeverfahren.


Bislang unterstützen Dienste wie Dropbox, Facebook oder Google WebAuthn aber nur als zweiten Faktor, jedoch nicht zum direkten Anmelden. Gleiches gilt für Microsoft, wo der Konto-Log-in mit WebAuthn-2FA zudem nur unter Windows funktioniert.

Lohnt sich das Angebot?Mit seinem schlanken Aluminium-Gehäuse, einer 256 Gigabyte (GB) SSD-Festplatte und einem Intel Core i5-Prozessor soll das Medion Akoya S6446 selbst anspruchsvolle Nutzer überzeugen. Aldi Nord verkauft das Notebook ab 29. August für 549 Euro.


Medion setzt bei diesem Mittelklasse-Gerät erneut auf ein 15,6 Zoll-Display (39,5 cm) mit IPS-Technologie und schmalen Rahmen. Der Bildschirm löst mit 1.920 mal 1.080 Pixel auf (Full HD). Das sind mittlerweile Standardwerte.Zum Arbeiten stehen 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher (DDR4-RAM) und ein 256 GB SSD-Speicher zur Verfügung. Das und der recht neue Intel Core i5-Prozessor spricht für eine solide Leistung und flottes Rechnen. Nur die Speicherkapazität ist nicht gerade üppig. In Zeiten der Cloud-Dienste spielt das aber eine zunehmend untergeordnete Rolle.


Der Hersteller verspricht bis zu sechs Stunden Akkulaufzeit und eine Schnellladefunktion, mit der die Batterie nach nur einer Stunde an der Steckdose wieder zu 80 Prozent geladen sein soll. Der Laptop wiegt trotz der Größe und Ausstattung nur 1,78 Kilo. Das Gehäuse besteht aus Aluminium und Kunststoff. Der Akku ist fest verbaut und kann nicht so ohne weiteres ausgetauscht werden.



Als Betriebssystem ist Windows 10 Home installiert. Office 365 lässt sich für 30 Tage kostenlos testen, ebenso wie das Virenschutzprogramm LiveSafe von McAfee.

Fazit: Das Medion Akoya S6446 bringt alles mit, was man von einem Gerät der Mittelklasse erwarten würde. 549 Euro sind dafür ein fairer Preis. Bei Media Markt kostet das Medion Akoya S6445 mit einem Terabyte SSD 599 Euro. Vergleichbare Geräte gibt es ab 600 Euro aufwärts. Es geht allerdings auch günstiger. Für Einsteiger, die ein Gerät für leichte Aufgaben suchen, ist das Notebook zu teuer.


Apple-Nutzer aufgepasst: Mehrere Airlines haben angekündigt, bestimmte MacBook-Pro-Modelle nicht mehr an Bord zu lassen. Der Grund: Der Akku könnte Feuer fangen. Apple weiß von dem Problem.Nach dem Bekanntwerden von Akku-Problemen bei bestimmten MacBook-Pro-Modellen, haben mehrere Airlines die Mitnahme der Notebooks verboten. Other laptop companies may have similar systems set up, but if yours doesn't, you should call the manufacturer directly and see if you can coordinate a battery purchase from them. If they don't sell the battery, then ask them about the WHr, amount of cells and voltage of the one you have.Then, type those numbers into Google (or your search engine/online store of choice) and ensure that whichever battery you come across states the exact names of the laptops it's compatible with. From there, check out if the seller is legitimate by looking at seller ratings and reviews.

Welchen Zweck "Nodersok" erfüllt und welchen Schaden die Malware anrichten kann, ist nicht ganz klar. Sicherheitsexperten der Firma Ciscos Talos gehen davon aus, dass es den Entwicklern der Software in erster Linie um Klickbetrug geht.


Die "Nordersok"-Erfinder versuchen demnach, möglichst viele Rechner zu infizieren, um über die Geräte automatisierte Klicks auf Werbeanzeigen zu generieren. "Infizierte Systeme manipulieren dabei Pay per Click-Zahlungssysteme, etwa über das automatisierte Klicken von Online-Werbung auf Internetseiten", erklärt der Windows-Sicherheitsexperte Andreas Marx von AV Test.


Langfristig könnte "Nodersok" aber auch dazu missbraucht werden, sehr viel gefährlichere Schadsoftware nachzuladen – zum Beispiel Banking-Trojaner oder Ransomware. Infizierte Systeme sollten also unbedingt bereinigt werden.


Falls Sie befürchten, dass Ihr Rechner betroffen sein könnte, führen Sie einen Virenscan mit einer aktuellen Antivirensoftware durch. Nach Einschätzung des Windows-Sicherheitsexperten Marx erkennen und entfernen alle aktuelle Virenprogramme die verschiedenen Nodersok-Varianten.


Ein JavaScript-Blocker im Browser sorgt für zusätzlichen Schutz beim Surfen und verhindert, dass schädlicher Code automatisch ausgeführt wird. Software kann immer wieder von kritischen Sicherheitslücken betroffen sein. Jetzt hat Microsoft einen Notfallpatch für Windows-Nutzer veröffentlicht. Einen Router zurückzusetzen ist im Grunde leicht: In der Regel genügt es, das Gerät für ein paar Sekunden vom Strom zu nehmen und neu zu starten. So werden festgefahrene Prozesse gelöscht und Probleme automatisch behoben. Nutzer sollten außerdem das voreingestellte Admin-Passwort des Routers ändern. Ein eigener Name und ein Kennwort von mindestens 16 Zeichen erhöhen die Sicherheit deutlich. Auch Sicherheits-Updates sind ein wichtiger Faktor und sollten immer installiert werden.


Microsoft hat für Windows 10 Ende August das Update KB4512941 veröffentlicht. Die Aktualisierung soll viele Probleme im System lösen. Jedoch klagen Nutzer auch über neue Fehler. Wer schnell auf wichtige Dateiordner zugreifen will, kann diese bei Windows 10 in die Symbolleiste integrieren. Dafür bewegt man seine Maus nach unten rechts zu einer freien Fläche in der Leiste.Mit einem Rechtsklick bekommt man unter anderem die Option "Symbolleisten" angezeigt. But there's still much we don't know about Series X, so we've compiled the official details Microsoft has revealed along with the most credible rumors to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect when the console releases in late 2020. Formerly known as Project Scarlett, the console's official name is Xbox Series X. Microsoft announced the name (and other details) at the annual Game Awards in a move that shocked fans and media alike.


It's possible the Series X is only one of multiple next-gen Xbox consoles. Rumors about a mysterious entry-level model codenamed Lockhart (but possibly the Xbox Series S) have been floating around, and are all but confirmed. Microsoft says Xbox Series X will arrive Holiday 2020. Yes, the next Xbox will land in stores next year.


We probably won't have a specific date until its official announcement, but we can be fairly certain of a November launch. Why November? Looking at the release date of previous consoles, the original Xbox launched on Nov 15, the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One were both launched on Nov 22 and the Xbox One X was made available on November 7.We'd be surprised if Microsoft broke this trend for anything other than a late October release. After all, we need the console to ship in time to place it under the tree on December 25.


Pricing will be an important piece of the Series X's commercial success. While we don't know exactly how much the console (or consoles) will cost, Microsoft promises to not repeat the same mistakes it made with the Xbox One. “I would say a learning from the Xbox One generation is we will not be out of position on power or price,” Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Xbox and gaming chief, said in an interview with The Verge.


When the Xbox One launched, it was sold with a 500GB hard drive, a controller and a Kinect sensor for an eye-popping $499. That made the Xbox One at $100 more expensive than the PS4 ($399). If we had to guess, the next console will cost between $350 and $550. Microsoft gave us the name of the console and even showed us the design, but it wouldn't confirm specs. Fortunately, we already have a pretty good idea of what the Series X will be packing.



Before we get into the details, it's worth mentioning that some rumors claim there will be not just one, but two separate versions of the upcoming Xbox: a lower-end SKU nicknamed "Lockhart" and a premium model internally named "Anaconda." The report claims that Microsoft is targeting around 12 teraflops (TF) of power in the higher-end Xbox Series X, or twice that of the Xbox One X (the current most powerful console) and many times greater than the Xbox One S. The lower-end "Lockhart" console will slot between the Xbox One X and One S in terms of power, with 4 teraflops of computing power. However, a recent report claims Lockhart, also called the Xbox Series X, could get up to 7.9TF.


Shifting to official news, the Xbox Series X will feature a custom AMD Zen 2 processor with a Navi GPU that supports ray tracing, frame rates at up to 120 frames per second, 8K resolution support and the fastest GDDR6 memory, along with variable refresh rates.


We don't know the exact components powering the console (or consoles) but reports suggest it will have an eight-core chip with 16GB of RAM, 13GB of which will be allocated for games (the other 3GB will go to the OS). Spencer told Gamespot that Microsoft wants the next console to run games at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. If it hits that mark, expect a significant leap in fidelity along with a smoother gaming experience.



Ray tracing could be critical in making next-gen games look better than ever. For those who aren't familiar, ray tracing is a rendering technique that simulates how light bounces off an object. The result is lighting effects and shadows that look practically photorealistic. The Xbox Series X will use a custom SSD that is said to be 40x faster than the one in current models. That drive is rumored to be an NVMe SSD fast enough to make load times a thing of the past.


There are only a few confirmed games coming to Series X, but they're the type of exclusives that will make consoles fly off shelves. The game on everyone's mind is Halo Infinite, the next journey for the beloved soldier, Master Chief. So far, we've only seen a teaser trailer shown at E3 2018 and a brief glimpse of the faceless protagonist in the Xbox Series X announcement video.

In fact, it covers a very good 136 percent of the sRGB color gamut and reached more than 400 nits of brightness.


Photographers who want the benefits of a business laptop should look no further than the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme. The 15.6-inch laptop takes everything we love about the ThinkPad series to the next level. It has an excellent keyboard, tons of security features and a wide range of ports, all included in a sleek, durable chassis. And while its battery life could be better, the X1 Extreme is one of the fastest laptops we've ever tested.



But the crown jewel of the ThinkPad X1 Extreme is its jaw-dropping 4K HDR display, which covers an outstanding 186 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The latest HP Envy 13 is an excellent all-around laptop that has a sleek, stylish aluminum chassis, fast performance and more than 11 hours of battery life (on the 1080p model). At $799, the Envy 13 is a cheaper alternative to the XPS 13 but offers some features Dell's laptop doesn't, including a webcam kill switch and a unique elevated hinge.


The follow-up to one of our favorite laptops improves upon a winning formula in almost every way. The Surface Laptop 3 with Intel CPUs has a slim aluminum chassis, which gives the laptop a sleek, premium feel. For photographers, the new 15-inch, 2K display (3:2 aspect ratio) is vivid, capable of reproducing an amazing 105 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The Surface Laptop 2 also has long battery life, fast performance and a useful magnetic Surface connector.


Microsoft sells an AMD version of the Surface Laptop 3 at Best Buy and other popular retails but we recommend skipping that one for this "for business"edition. This face-off between the two versions shows why.You haven't seen a good laptop display until you've feasted your eyes on the OLED panel gracing the newest Dell XPS 15. With exceptional brightness and color reproduction, this pricey upgrade is a photographer's dream.


The 15.6-inch laptop also gives you tons of power to run even the most demanding photo-editing software, all packaged in a chassis that can be easily transported from shoot to shoot. But our favorite thing about the 2019 model is that the webcam has returned to its rightful position, above the display.



When photographers touch-up their pictures, they need to see every last detail, which is why the editing is often done on a massive monitor. But how can you get the same precision when you're on the go? Meet the LG Gram 17, a remarkably portable laptop with excellent battery life and a large, high-resolution 17-inch display.

Microsoft's next console, the Xbox Series X, will arrive in late 2020. While we're several months away from the launch of Xbox Series X, Microsoft has already revealed a surprising amount of information about the console, including its name, design and even early game launches. Based on what we know, the Series X could be an excellent alternative, or complement, to one of the best gaming laptops.

Die wohl konkreteste, aber auch harmloseste Gefahr ist, dass eine solche Lizenz nicht funktioniert und sich Käufer dann mit dem Verkäufer über eine Erstattung streiten müssen. Das könnte auch Käufer der bei Edeka verkauften Lizengo-Lizenzen treffen.


Generell können die Folgen der Nutzung illegaler Lizenzen für den Anwender aber noch weitreichender sein, erklärt Christian Solmecke. So sei auch eine Sperrung des Accounts beim Hersteller denkbar, weil man als Nutzer gegen die Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen verstoßen hat. "Auch möglich sind Abmahnungen der Hersteller oder Schadensersatzforderungen, weil man ohne Berechtigung ein Produkt des Herstellers genutzt hat."


Selbst strafrechtliche Konsequenzen können der Kauf und die Nutzung illegaler Software nach sich ziehen, schätzt Rechtsanwalt Solmecke. Denkbar wären seiner Ansicht nach Ermittlungen wegen "unerlaubter Verwendung von Software nach dem Urheberrechtsgesetz" (Freiheitsstrafe von bis zu drei Jahren oder Geldstrafe, wenn man die Software auf den Computer lädt).


Allerdings müsste der Käufer die Illegalität der Quelle dabei "billigend in Kauf genommen" haben, ergänzt Solmecke. Auf die Käufer der Edeka-Lizenzen trifft das vermutlich eher nicht zu.


Denkbar sei beim Kauf illegaler Softwarelizenzen dafür theoretisch eine Anklage wegen Geldwäsche, glaubt der Medienrechtsanwalt. Hier könne auch derjenige belangt werden, der leichtfertig nicht erkennt, dass der Gegenstand aus einer rechtswidrigen Tat herrührt. "Aufgrund des geringen Preises der sonst viel teureren Software könnte man argumentieren, dass dem Käufer hätte auffallen müssen, dass die Software ohne gültige Lizenz des Herstellers verkauft wurde und wahrscheinlich aus einer strafbaren Vortat stammt", sagt Solmecke.


Ob und inwieweit Microsoft im Fall der bei Edeka verkauften Lizenzen überhaupt plant, gegen Käufer vorzugehen, ist nicht bekannt. Klar wird allerdings, dass Verbraucher beim Kauf äußerst günstiger Softwarelizenzen generell sehr vorsichtig sein sollten. So ist nicht ausgeschlossen, dass auch den Käufer zivil- oder sogar strafrechtliche Konsequenzen treffen können.


Windows- und Office-Lizenzen zu Spottpreisen bei Edeka – damit sorgte der Lizenzhändler Lizengo in den vergangenen Wochen für Aufregung. Jetzt droht der Firma eine Klage durch Microsoft.Microsoft hat offenbar Klage gegen den in Köln ansässigen Software-Lizenzhändler Lizengo eingereicht. Das berichtet das Branchenmagazin "CRN". Den Recherchen von "CRN" zufolge hat Microsoft mittlerweile verschiedene von Lizengo verkaufte Lizenzen genauer untersuchen können und stellte dabei fest, dass diese jeweils aus Quellen stammen, die nie für den Weiterverkauf an Endkunden in Deutschland vorgesehen waren.



Einige bei Edeka erworbene Schlüssel, für "Office Home and Student 2016" etwa, stammten aus China und dürfen deshalb weder neu noch gebraucht in Deutschland verkauft werden, berichtet "CRN". Andere Produktschlüssel sind Teil von Lizenzverträgen mit ausländischen Universitäten. Dort waren diese teils nur einmal aktiviert worden.


Durch den Verkauf dieser Schlüssel über Lizengo wurden bestimmte Softwareschlüssel nun zusätzlich bis zu 25-mal von deutschen Edeka-Kunden aktiviert – ohne dass die betroffenen Universitäten davon wussten.

Ob Kunden nun Konsequenzen drohen, erklärt ein Medienrechtsanwalt hier. Wie genau es nun für Lizengo weitergeht, entscheiden nun die Ermittlungen der Justiz und ein darauffolgender Prozess.


Mit dem Windows Defender liefert Microsoft einen systemeigenen Virenschutz für Windows 10. Bisher hatte der Defender allerdings eine Schwachstelle, durch die Angreifer das Sicherheitsprogramm aushebeln konnten. Eine neue Funktion soll diese nun beheben.Microsoft liefert für Nutzer von Windows 10 eine neue Funktion: den Manipulationsschutz. Viele Angreifer konzentrierten sich bisher darauf, den Windows Defender auszuhebeln und so die Schutzmechanismen des Systems zu umgehen. Das nahende Support-Aus für Windows 7 zwingt PC-Nutzer endgültig zum Umstieg auf Windows 10. Die Installation des neuen Betriebssystems kostet Zeit und Geld. Dafür klingeln jetzt auf dem PC-Markt die Kassen. Im Januar 2020 will Microsoft das veraltete Betriebssystem Windows 7 offiziell in den Ruhestand verabschieden.
